Live Fully, Live Well

Event Location: Massad Family YMCA

Live Fully, Live Well is a comprehensive wellness program from the National MS Society and Can Do MS, designed for people living with MS and their support partners. Managing your health and wellness is an integral part of “living well” with MS.

This series will be held from 5:30-7:00 PM every Thursday, January 25-February 22 (Following the Fredericksburg MS Exercise Group that meets from 4:00-5:00 PM).

Cost: Free. Refreshments and food will be provided.

What Can I Eat?

This is an exciting and innovative nutrition focused diabetes self-management support program for adults living with type 2 diabetes and their families and care givers.  Iis the first program of its kind paring ADA’s renowned diabetes Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes with evidence based nutrition and behavior changes strategies aiming to simplify the basic components of making the healthy choice easier for people with diabetes. The best part is that the whole program is FREE!!

Come join these 90 minutes sessions delivered weekly for four consecutive weeks in a group environment.

Topics will include the following:





5. A REUNION SESSION (Three months after session 4 to reinforce positive behaviors and to share lessons learned)

Come join us at the King George Family YMCA and/or Massad Family YMCA for Healthy Kids Day on Saturday, April 21st.  We will have a Color Run 1 mile and 5k for both kids and adults.  We have our indoor portion which will include our Passport To Health and live demonstrations.

Thanks to a very generous community, King George County has a treasure that is turning 10! Yes, it has been 10 years this September since the ribbon was cut at the King George Family YMCA. It is time to have fun, celebrate “the treasures of King George” and the impact of the Y.

Entertainment includes a 17 piece band, The Silver Tones, playing music starting in WWII up to the 60’s and 70’s with lots of dancing. Delicious food will be served including an oyster bar. Get the password and enjoy tasting in the “Speak Easy”. Beer and wine will also be available. No celebration would be complete without some great desserts.
