Job Description:

The Welcome Center Attendant is responsible for providing current information and excellent member service as it relates to the
Welcome Center.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable

• Greet incoming and outgoing patrons
• Monitors scanners
• Makes photo ID’s for members
• Signs up members and participants for programs, memberships, etc. and receipts as necessary
• Answer incoming calls
• Gives tours of the YMCA facility
• Disburses current program and membership information
• Opening and closing duties as assigned
• Ensure all safety and risk management procedures are adhered to
• Participate in the Annual Support Campaign
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be mature and have the ability to remedy situations calmly
• Ability to handle and process money
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Good work ethic
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Comfort in working with diverse individuals and organizations
• Ability to handle difficult situations
• Ability to learn and implement the YMCA’s software program
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Within 30 days of hire completion of: CPR, First Aid, AED training
• Must complete Presidium (Child Abuse Prevention Training) within 7 days of hire date.
• Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.


Physical Demands:

• Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
• Must be able to lift and or assist children up to 50 pounds in weight.

• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
