YMCA’s first stage of the Safety Around Water Program. This stage encourages forward movement on both back and front, increases confidence in underwater exploration, and encourages basic self-rescue skills to be performed independently. Skills include: Independent front and back glide, independent front and back float, independent water entry and exit in deep water, and treading.
Mastery of Stage 1 skills required to register. All swimmers should be able to follow instructions in a group setting.
This class is 30 mins, once a week, for a total of 4 lessons.
Ages 6-12
Deck Managers reserve the right to move students based on skill level and pool space availability.
