Dance
Y dance programs allow children to explore the world of dance in a positive and affordable way. Preschool ballet is currently offered at the Ron Rosner Family YMCA for children ages 3-6 years old. Little ballerinas will learn basic ballet skills, terminology, rhythm, and coordination through creative movement and music in a supportive, fun and nurturing environment. We welcome children of all abilities and levels in our classes.
Gymnastics
Gymnastics at the Y teaches children basic tumbling and gymnastics skills in a fun and creative way. Boys and girls will practice proper technique of basic fundamentals of tumbling, vault, balance beam and bars, as well as movement games and various obstacle courses. Gymnastics is offered periodically at our Caroline branch. Check back often for current offerings.
Soccer/Futsal
The YMCA offers a futsal program designed to give players extra experience during a time when soccer is usually out of season. Futsal is a variation of indoor soccer that is widely played across the world and is recognized by FIFA and other major organizations. This fast-paced game provides unique opportunities for players to develop in precision, decision making, ball control and skillful, creative play. Smaller team sizes result in a much better all-around understanding of the game, as well as more touches on the ball. This program is offered periodically at the Caroline branch.
Martial Arts
Soo Bahk Do (Tang Soo Do) is a classical Korean martial art which teaches defense and doing the right thing. In practicing Soo Bahk Do we strive to build harmony of the mind and body. We not only seek to prepare students for physical defense, but to build character. Our program, emphasizes discipline, courage and a unique philosophy that improves success in family, school and work. Soo Bahk Do is currently offered at the Caroline and Ron Rosner locations.
