The Y’s early learning, before and after school care, and day camp offerings are staffed with people who understand the cognitive, physical and social development of kids, the support parents and families need and the importance of maintaining a safe, clean environment for children to learn and thrive. At the Y, preschoolers experience early literacy and learn about their world and school-age kids make friends, learn new skills and get help with their schoolwork.

The Rappahannock Area YMCA offers a broad range of childcare programs including child watch, preschool, before and after school care, and camps for children preschool age through teen. Our Youth Programs will encourage your child to unlock their creativity, explore the world around them, and develop the confidence and skills they will need to reach their full potential.
Nurturing the Potential of Every Child
Preschool
From the beginning stages of life, the Y provides a nurturing environment for your child to learn, grow and thrive. Children learn through interaction, exploration, and play. We take every interaction we have as learning experience to develop your child’s creative, intellectual, emotional, social and physical skills. Our preschool program uses curriculum with developmentally appropriate experiences to foster joyful learning, address specific needs and build skills for success.
Before & After School Care
YMCA School Age Child Care (SACC) is designed for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Programs for this age group complement and enhance formal education, and provide learning opportunities that build relationships, develop character and inspire discovery to help foster your child’s academic success. Our before and after school programs run at all school sites in Spotsylvania and Stafford Counties, select schools in Caroline County and at the King George Family YMCA branch.
YMCA Summer Camp
YMCA camps are more than just childcare – they are opportunities for children to have fun, learn skills, make friends, and make memories that last a lifetime. At Y day camp, your kids will have tons of fun as they explore new adventures each day. Our camps include a wide variety of activities such as swimming, games, arts and crafts and sports. Each week of summer camp features a different theme and activities.
