24 Hour Access Guidelines:
ZERO TOLERANCE
The Rappahannock Area YMCA has a Zero Tolerance Policy in relation to 24 hour access privileges. Violations of the following guidelines, in addition to all YMCA policies may result in the termination of all membership privileges without a refund. These policies are in place for everyone’s safety and enjoyment at the Rappahannock Area YMCA. Members are asked to adhere to the Y core values of honesty, respect, caring, responsibility, and faith. Violations of the code of conduct with trespassing, theft, and other crimes may lead to prosecution.
Members with 24-hour access may use the Rappahannock Area YMCA at the Ron Rosner & Caroline locations at any time. The access scanner will be located at a back designated entrance. During normal YMCA business hours, the 24-hour access scanner will be turned off, and members will need to check in at the Welcome Center with their membership card. The facility will only be staffed during advertised hours of operations. Please visit our website at www.family-ymca.org for operation and special holiday hours.
24 hour access is limited to adults, ages 18 and older. 24 hour access will only be granted to those who meet this age requirement. Members who violate this policy will lose their 24 hour and/or standard Y membership privileges.
As a Y member with 24 hour access, you may use the fitness center and designated restrooms of the Y at any time. IMPORTANT: YMCA staff will not be available after normal operating hours to assist members. Members with 24 hour access can utilize the fitness center at their own risk.
CLOSURES/SNOW REMOVAL/INCLEMENT WEATHER
- During non-business hours on heavy snow days, parking lot and sidewalk snow removal and application of ice melt WILL NOT BE IN PLACE until staff are present, later if there is a delay in operating hours.
- Members with 24 hour access will be notified of closures for power outages, and/or inclement weather that result in unsafe conditions via social media, the YMCA app and/or the website.
If you are not current on your membership dues you will lose 24 hour access privileges. Once the account is current and overdue payments are paid your key fob will be returned to working order within 24 hours unless it is over a weekend then it will return to normal working order the following business day.
EQUIPMENT
- Only use equipment you understand how to use.
- Inspect the equipment to make sure it is properly functioning prior to using the equipment. Remove any potential trip hazards from the floor, around racks/lifting area, and return all excess plates/equipment to keep the area tidy when they are not in use.
- Limit all free weight movements to 80% loading during non-staffed hours.
- Stop exercising if you experience a potential injury and seek medical attention.
- Notify management and all other members using the Y if any equipment is not working properly or if you notice any potentially dangerous conditions within the Y.
- Return all equipment, other Y supplies to their designated storage place after using the equipment and pick up any items or trash brought into the Y or bathrooms.
- After use, please wipe down any used equipment.
24 hour members must use their own key fob for entry. In the event that your key fob does not work, please call the YMCA during normal operating hours for assistance.
- Please use the same entrance and exit location when enjoying the 24-hour benefit. Emergency exits are available to use only in the event of an emergency.
- All existing and new members must provide a valid ID during the enrollment process for 24-hour access.
- A recent photograph must be saved on your YMCA account.
-
If you lose or damage your key fob, you must report it to the YMCA as soon as possible. Your key fob is unique to your membership and will allow access as long as your membership remains current.
GUESTS AND GUEST PASSES
- Guests ARE NOT ALLOWED to utilize the 24 hour. It is a program for members only.
- Please be aware that your key fob is to be used only for your entry into the facility.
- Nationwide Reciprocity members are not permitted.
- Members with 24 hour access cannot grant access to others, even if they are known to you or members of your family. This is done so the YMCA can track who is in the building at all times.
- Granting access to another individual is grounds for immediate termination of 24 hour and/or standard Y memberships.
EMERGENCY SITUATIONS & VIDEO SURVEILLANCE
- The Y has a 24 hour video recording system for security purposes. It will be reviewed on a daily basis to address any security concerns and monitor who is entering the building.
- Please note that this system does not provide staffing assistance for any emergency that might arise.
- A telephone is located inside the fitness center in case of emergency. In the event of an emergency, immediately dial 911.
- Please use caution when entering and leaving the building.
If there is loss of power in the building, please immediately exit through the main entrance door; the same door you used to enter the facility.
- If the Y loses power after normal operating hours, 24/7 access will not be available.
EMERGENCY CONTACT NUMBERS
Call 911 for any emergency. An emergency telephone, first aid kit and AED is located in each facility.
