As a member of the Rappahannock Area YMCA Association, you have access to the nursery services for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years old while you’re at our facility. Our childcare team is well-trained and deeply committed to ensuring our members’ satisfaction.

Massad
The Massad YMCA Interact Zone is a spot created especially for our middle school aged members. It’s a safe place to hang out, play games, watch movies, and meet new people. If your child isn’t interested in the usual gym activities, the Interact Zone is for them. With weekly Pokemon matches and Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, arcade basketball, foosball, ping pong, table hockey, and more they’ll love what the Interact Zone has to offer.
As we grow, we will be introducing additional special activities including PS4 games, Talent shows, improve lessons, and more.
Kidz Zone Hours of Operation:
Monday-Saturday: 8:30 AM- 12:00 PM
Morning Gym Time (excluding Saturdays):
10:00 AM -10:30 AM Preschool and younger.
10:30 Am – 11:30 AM Ages 5 and up
Monday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Afternoon Gym Time:
4:30 PM -5:00 PM Preschool and younger
5:00 PM – 6:00 PM 5 and up.
Ages: 6 weeks to 12 years
Children will not be admitted without sneakers. Boots, dress shoes, sandals, crocs, etc. are not permitted.
The Massad YMCA Kidz Zone offers weekly themes, structured activities, crafts, and games that change daily. Focused on the children, Kidz Zone promotes age appropriate engagement and interactions for your children so you can focus on your health and fitness goals.
Parents Night Out
Our monthly PNO is a great time to plan a date night. Your children will be entertained with activities, games, crafts, food, and even a bounce house. These events are 3 hours and are a drop-off event. Keep an eye out for registration because spaces fill quickly.

- Children must come with closed-toed shoes and appropriate clothing
- We are a nut-free facility so if you are wanting to provide snack for your child, please ensure there are no nuts and any water bottles/snack containers are labeled with your child’s name
- Each month we post our list of monthly activities which include Arts & Crafts, story time, coloring pages and more! In the gym children will have the opportunity to run out some energy, play with hula hoops, ride the small bikes, and more!

Caroline
We allow children ages 6 weeks to 12 years old. Children who are 6 weeks to 18 months are counted as two children in our daily supervision count. You do not have to be a member of the Y to utilize Childwatch service, but fees may apply.
Each parent must sign in their own child. Required information to check-in/out include:
- Membership. All participants must be listed under the custodial account.
- Emergency contact number
- Parent’s location on YMCA premises (i.e. Wellness Center, Gym, Group Fitness, Pool, etc.)
- Any known allergies of the child
Reminder: Parent/guardian must stay at the Y while their child(ren) are in Child Watch.
We prefer parents signing their own children in and out of Child Watch, even if you have a friend visiting with you, for safety purposes. The parent dropping off MUST be the same parent picking up unless otherwise noted
Spaces in Child Watch are limited and filled on a “first come, first served” basis. Remember to sign up with our RappYFit app to ensure your child’s time slot is available. Preferential accommodations will be given to members, working staff and then non-members. Staff reserve the right to dismiss participants if slots are full.
